Anthology 4 is the first new Beatles archival release in nearly three decades, and the most significant since the Anthology series began in the 1990s.
Newly curated by Giles Martin, the record brings together 13 previously unreleased session outtakes spanning 1963 to 1969, documenting the full arc of the band's creative life from their earliest recordings through the final days of the Let It Be sessions. Also included is “Now and Then,” the band's final single, released in 2023, alongside new mixes of “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” both GRAMMY-winning Anthology singles reworked by original producer Jeff Lynne using restored John Lennon vocals. Track notes are written by Kevin Howlett, with an introduction drawn from 1996 interviews with the band's close friend and adviser Derek Taylor.
For collectors, this is not a reissue. It is primary source material, unreleased recordings from the most documented band in history, pressed and preserved for the first time.
