Jonny Greenwood's sixth collaboration with director Paul Thomas Anderson, and arguably their most ambitious. One Battle After Another earned thirteen Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, six BAFTA wins including Best Film, and four Golden Globe wins. The score is central to all of it.
Spanning eighteen new compositions performed with the London Contemporary Orchestra under conductor Hugh Tieppo-Brunt, with Greenwood contributing piano, guitar, bass, percussion, and ondes Martenot, from brooding urgency to plaintive solo moments and sweeping orchestral climaxes, the score mirrors the film's emotional currents: paranoia, longing, defiance, and fragile connection.
This double vinyl LP pressing includes an etched side – a physical artifact as carefully considered as the music itself.
